The Governor’s Foundation for Health and Wellness has announced that Cheatham County has been named a Healthier Tennessee Community. The Cheatham County Community Enhancement Coalition (CCCEC) was awarded a $5,000 grant to celebrate this designation.
Gov. Bill Haslam and Governor’s Foundation for Health and Wellness CEO Richard Johnson designated 13 counties and one city Healthier Tennessee Communities on Tuesday, including Cheatham County.
Representatives from the 14 communities attended the designation ceremony at the Tennessee State Capitol in Nashville on Tuesday. Those designees bring the number of designated Healthier Tennessee Communities to 59 and more than 100 communities, neighborhoods and college campuses have participated in the program, according to a news release issued by the Governor’s Foundation for Health and Wellness on Tuesday.
